About the Rhodes Global Scholarships Program

The Rhodes Scholarship is the oldest (first awarded in 1902) international scholarship program, enabling outstanding young people from around the world to study at the University of Oxford. It is a fully-funded, full-time, postgraduate award that enables talented young people from around the world to study at the University of Oxford. Applying for the Scholarship is a challenge, but it is an experience that has helped generations of young people to succeed. We encourage applications from talented students everywhere.

Rhodes Scholars come to the UK for two or more years and can apply to study most full-time postgraduate courses offered by Oxford University. One of the founding aims of the Scholarship was to identify young leaders from around the world who, through the pursuit of education together at Oxford, would forge bonds of mutual understanding and fellowship for the betterment of mankind. The scholarship program is offered by Rhodes Trust. An educational charity that brings together and develops exceptional people who are impatient with the way things are and dare to act.

Until recently, the Rhodes Scholarships have only been awarded in 20 constituencies (representing over 60 different countries). Now the Rhodes Scholarships are fully global. Two new Global Scholarships allow eligible candidates from the rest of the world to apply (subject to nomination). Rhodes Global Scholarship is looking for outstanding young leaders who are motivated to engage with global challenges and promote international understanding and peace.
